Two bachelors, one double life, endless hilarity—Oscar Wilde’s wit sparkles in Earnest this February at Oklahoma Shakespeare!
Synopsis: Oscar Wilde’s most celebrated comedy sparkles with wit, charm, and razor-sharp satire. The Importance of Being Earnest follows two young gentlemen, Jack and Algernon, who create elaborate double lives to escape social obligations and pursue romance. But when their deceptions collide, the result is a whirlwind of mistaken identities, outrageous revelations, and Wilde’s trademark epigrams that still dazzle over a century later.
Audiences are treated to a delightful romp through Victorian society, where cucumber sandwiches, handbags, and the pursuit of “earnestness” become hilariously entangled. Beneath the laughter lies Wilde’s clever critique of class, marriage, and the absurdities of social convention.
Why You’ll Love It:
🌟 One of the greatest comedies ever written, brimming with unforgettable lines
😂 A fast-paced farce of love, lies, and laughter
🎩 Elegant costumes and witty repartee that transport you to Wilde’s world
❤️ A timeless satire that proves being earnest is not nearly as important as being entertaining

This FREE "A.I. for Artists" workshop and lecture will discuss how artists can effectively navigate a world where people can generate images nearly instantly with a prompt using Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) as an artist aiming to protect their intellectual property and enhance their business. Both the legal implications and the potential costs and benefits of using A.I. will be examined. Topics will range from how the use of A.I. in the drafting/brainstorming phase of a project could impact the ability to copyright the final work, and how A.I. can be leveraged to aid in reducing the cost in both money and time for tedious clerical work that is inherent in running an art business.

About the Instructor:
Terry Clark has been painting watercolor landscapes for 20 years and is a member of In Your Eye Studio & Gallery in the Paseo Arts District. He’s exhibited and sold paintings in Oklahoma, Texas and Santa Fe. Samples of his work can be viewed on his website, www.tmclarkart.com
He believes transparent watercolor is ideal for capturing the dynamic spirit and light of Oklahoma and the Great Plains. Students will be introduced to the basic techniques and materials of watercolor, with plenty of practice. Classes will involve step-by-step lessons and demonstrations, as well as one-on-one instructions and always positive advice.
Clark has studied painting with Cletus Smith and Connie Seabourne of Oklahoma City and with nationally recognized artists Don Nice, Fran Francese, Ron Ranson, Don Andrews, Tom Lynch and G. Russell Case. His landscapes of Oklahoma, the Great Plains and the Southwest explore the influence of the brilliant light and colors from ever-changing skies. To him, the skies are a live source of light and life, fluid in an arid land.
Clark believes painting has stories to tell about our skies, brilliant colors and moods of the dramatic prairies, mountains, deserts and mesas. Clark is recognized as an excellent teacher and is a retired journalism professor at UCO in Edmond.
